Shirley got a lovely surprise - Della and Sammy are home for Christmas - but she still can't shake the feeling George is up to something. Della told her "he's George Henderson, not George Clooney" but Shirley's too scared to confront him with her fears. Della confronted Billy about Jo's pregnancy - surely it's an immaculate conception?! She thinks he's deluded but he got really angry and chucked her out. Paul's next psychologist appointment seemed to go well but it looks like he's playing with them all. Jamie knows he's up to something but what?

Deek fretted about Carly's Christmas present - he's just not into her as much as she's into him and he doesn't want to give her the wrong idea - but it was Bob who was really suffering. He's decided he's off women. Charlie tried to talk to him to explain what had happened but he wouldn't listen. She didn't get the chance to tell him she's leaving for America to spend some time with family. Liam was counting his blessings - Charlie apologised to him and, while he didn't give her the time of day, he's putting the past behind him. He thanked Alanna for everything she'd done to help and there was more than a little spark between them! She's following his lead and is determined not to let last Christmas spoil this one.

Marty and Ruth were back to being lovebirds, full of talk about the baby. They decided to keep it a secret until Christmas Day. Lurking round the corner is a timebomb waiting to go off. Iona won't accept her relationship with Marty is over. She's convinced he loves her but a few harsh words ("demented slapper" and "tart" were perhaps a little harsh) knocked her for six. He even slapped her face when she slagged off Ruth! She begged him to stay with her but he reckons she's the biggest mistake of his life.
