Deek and Carly had their first date but Carly was distinctly more enthusiastic about it than Deek. He was cagey about it and didn't want all of Shieldinch talking about them. The date was awkward but he did admit he wants them to be boyfriend and girlfriend but he was being awfully strange about it. Shirley eventually let Fi talk to her about Alice but both were shocked to hear Alice had taken off to London for a few days to get her head together.

Scarlett was grumpy and still couldn't muster the courage to tell Jimmy about the baby. He was getting friendly with Tina (who was worrying herself about Paul) and couldn't get any sense out of Scarlett when she did speak to him. Egged on by Gina, she did try to tell him but she chickened out at the last minute, confusing him further.

Tina wasn't the only one worried about Paul - Jamie wasn't himself and Scott told Eddie he was worried too. Paul shut himself in his room but Eddie was determined he wouldn't let it spoil his night in with Scott. Ruth was down when she discovered she's not pregnant but Marty wasn't around to offer support. He was far too busy with Iona. They were getting it on at Heather's flat but were caught in the act by Gerry, back from Australia!
