Raymond and EileenArchie and GinaGerry and Heather

After spending the night with Raymond, Shona tried to slip off home. Things were a little awkward but they were obviously happy but then Harry had bad news for Raymond and Eileen - their daughter Kirsty's been killed in a car crash in Cardiff. Eileen was hysterical and Father Dominic tried to comfort her but Raymond was numb. As news spread round Shieldinch, Shona didn't know what to do but Roisin went to comfort Raymond. Eileen and Raymond left for Cardiff to identify the body.

Fi suggested to Archie that he needed a night in alone with Gina so he set about organising it, by ORDERING his mum to stay overnight at a friend's! Despite the traumas of the day, Gina managed to relax and enjoy their romantic night in together. All was going beautifully until Liz returned home - she wouldn't be ordered out of her home! She accused Gina of being a trollop, there was a fight between her and Archie, she feels she's being pushed out, he feels she's putting a spanner in the works and tells her to get used to the situation… or else. Marty and Ruth were offered first refusal on buying the flat so Ruth had to tell Scott he'd have to move out. He took the news very well and, after an apology from Eddie, talked about their future together. He wants to be there for him and his family, and thinks Paul needs some stability, so why don't they move towards living together? Eddie couldn't be happier.

Heather was busy getting organised to go to Australia and handed over Versus to Susie to look after. However, there was the small matter of a marriage proposal to think about too. She reckoned Gerry's proposal could've been more romantic and felt it was a bit of a 'marry me or else' situation, while he was annoyed at Heather's reluctance to give any hint of an answer. It looked like he'd stay in Glasgow but after overhearing Heather's indecision at what happens if Duncan stays in Australia, he apologised for his jealousy. He agreed to go with her and they'll talk about their future while they're away. They pack up their stuff and set off for Sydney.
