Iona and MartyShirley and FiMcCabe

Ruth and Marty had ANOTHER daft fight. This time is was cos Marty didn't notice Ruth's new hairdo. To make matters worse, old flame Harry spotted it, so Ruth was all sweetness and light with him. Iona caught sight of all this madness and (very unsubtly) put temptation in his path. He told her she should get a boyfriend to calm herself down! Archie told Liz the 'exciting' news that he and Gina would be selling the flat and would move in with her. She was less than pleased and tried to blame Gina for the whole thing! Seems both the women in his life are unimpressed with his controlling ways. Gina discovered Archie had given the estate agents keys for folk to view it when they were away so she was mad but an offer of £140,000 was too much to turn down.

She told Jo and Malcolm, who supported what they thought she wanted to do. Eileen, however, had plenty to say about Archie but Gina found herself defending him! Fi confided in Shirley about her partner's death - she'd died in a car crash and Fi admitted to hating her when she died cos she'd always told her to slow down. The two of them decided to go out for dinner but looked a bit put out when Alice came too. Fi then said she was going to her holiday cottage for a few days and invited Shirley. She was delighted when she agreed but when Alice was included, it seemed like three's a crowd. Eddie spotted his boys playing in the street but they were achingly far away from him. Scott was running out of ideas to help Eddie has he drowned his sorrows in The Ship.

McCabe's run-in with Lenny had left him depressed but determined to find out Lenny's next move, he decided to speak to Sammy. He found out Lenny took over Wok My World cos the owner had gambling debts, and that he's up to something but Sammy couldn't say what. Reluctantly, McCabe set up a meeting with a suspicious Eddie. Turning to the polis was a last resort but he promised he could deliver Lenny, something they both want. There was a bit of a face-off between Lenny and McCabe - Lenny made it clear he's now in charge and was angry at McCabe. He told him he had one week to find a miracle to help himself… but it seemed he put himself just where McCabe wants him…
