A lot of tears were shed in Shieldinch as everyone found out about Jo's accident. The Rossi family were devastated and tensions were high when Billy realised George only had a few scratches while Jo was lying unconscious. Billy threatened to kill George! Jo was rushed to hospital and her friends and family played a waiting game, anxious for news.
Marty tried to tell Billy and the ambulance men that Jo was pregnant but he didn't get the chance. When he and Heather eventually realised they were both in on Jo's secret, Heather had to talk him out of telling everyone. However, it was too late. At the hospital, Jo's doctor told the Rossis that she was stable and tough, and that things looked good for the baby that was the first they knew! George got the all-clear from the hospital and was questioned by police about the accident but even though it looked like they weren't going to press charges, he still beat himself up about it. Alice and Shirley had to stop him going to the hospital to see her.
Happily, news came through that Jo was awake and was going to be okay, so was the baby. Gerry's fiendish lawyer brain realised Heather already knew about the pregnancy and he told her he knew it couldn't be Billy's baby. A delighted Billy, meanwhile, was by Jo's bed and told her the happy news he assumed she didn't already know. We reckon Jo's headache's just got a whole lot worse.
