Duncan collapsed in the streetScott confided in RuthJo and Luca kissed!

We finally found out where Duncan was hiding himself - in hospital. His doctor told him not to leave but he had to tell Heather what was going on 'cos his illness was too serious to keep it from her any longer. He got a taxi back to Shieldinch and tried to tell Heather but she was too angry at him and refused to listen… until Duncan collapsed in the street. Freya was upset to see her Dad in hospital and Heather told her they had to be strong, with a reluctant promise that Duncan wasn't going to die. Seeing Heather, Duncan and Freya together was too much for Gerry and he told Heather she must still love Duncan. She was upset but Gerry walked out.

Kelly-Marie went away with Andrew to spend New Year at his parents', which was hard for Scarlett but she was soon cheered by the thought of Kelly-Marie and Andrew's 2006 wedding! Bob was missing Michelle and the baby but surely 2006 would be a better year for him?! Scott was moping in the flat and told Ruth what happened with Eddie. Eddie turned up and told Scott he loved him but it wasn't enough - Scott couldn't handle his lies and threw him out. He wasn't in the mood for party but Marty and Ruth dragged him out to the pub. Raymond and Alanna continued their bedside vigil, hoping for Roisin to wake up. They were ecstatic when she finally did. The good news reached the Tall Ship where Hogmanay celebrations were in full swing.

Jo became more and more convinced Billy was going to leave her for Della, and again turned to Luca for support. Billy tried again to persuade Della they should get back together but she wasn't having any of it. Della had an emotional goodbye with her Mum but it was gatecrashed by Billy, again trying to persuade her to get back together with him. She wasn't having any of it but Jo saw them kissing goodbye and ran off. Billy ran after her and told her HE'd asked for the divorce. Jo was delighted so he got away with his white lie. He was left alone at the Bells though as Jo had a heart-to-heart with Luca about Billy… at least it seemed they were talking about love but maybe it wasn't about Billy. As the fireworks exploded over Shieldinch, Jo and Luca couldn't hide from their feelings any more and they kissed!!!
