Roisin found out the truth about Alex and was champing at the bit to save her daughter but Eileen told her to wait on Raymond. Undeterred, Roisin went to the caravan but there was no sign of anyone. She called the police but was told they couldn't do anything 'cos Alanna's over 18. Meanwhile car trouble stalled Alanna and Alex's trip to Aberdeen but Alex kept his evil hold on a listless Alanna. McCabe and Donna popped in to see Scarlett, and McCabe was disturbed by the state of Jimmy. Christmas become distinctly less merry when the electricity went off… that was one red bill that didn't get paid. McCabe went to the garage to have words with Lenny. Donna refused to stay at Scarlett's so followed him. Father Michael was watching what was going on and followed, too.

McCabe told Lenny he'd got too big for his boots but Lenny had a gun and threatened to shoot him. Donna rushed in and ended up in the middle of the two. It looked like Lenny had won but he hadn't counted on Father Michael and a large spanner! Lenny was left lying unconscious; McCabe helped himself to a bundle of Lenny's drug money and turned him in to the police. He gave some of the cash to Father Michael and gave the rest to Bob. The Adams' Christmas was rescued! And it only got better when Kelly-Marie announced she was going to be a footballer's wife!! Marty and Ruth were celebrating their first Christmas together but the mood was spoiled by Scott, let down by Eddie again. The rest of the Rossis were toasting a happy Christmas with a rather disgruntled Liz. Billy told Della he loved her and that all he wanted was a family, a home and a woman to love… it wasn't what Della expected to hear and it wasn't what Jo wanted to overhear. Oops.

Alanna found the strength to reject Alex's twisted advances and pushed him away. She was really upset and grabbed a knife - she wanted to kill him! She didn't though… she was scared and ran home. Alex didn't even realise she'd gone - he was too busy trying to find a way to light his cigarette. He used the gas hob but was too drunk to switch it off so it just hissed in the background. Raymond was raging and stormed across to the caravan. Alex was inside, fumbling with his lighter. Roisin and Alanna ran after Raymond, trying to stop him confronting Alex. The three reached the caravan just as Alex lit his cigarette… and caused a massive explosion. Roisin, Raymond and Alanna were blown off their feet; Raymond and Alanna got up but there was no movement from Roisin.
