Malcolm interrupted Gina and Archie enjoying a lie in. Gina gave him a row but he ignored her, saying he was worried about Ruth and was going to be spending the day with her. He said he was determined to find out what was going on. Alice signed for a registered letter: her court summons. Andrew picked up Kelly, and Scarlett told him he better not hurt her wee girl again. Andrew confessed that he loved Kelly, so Scarlett welcomed him back to the family. Mac was delighted when Zoe said she wanted to apply to college, but a row soon broke out when he realised that she wanted to apply for nursing. He said she could do better, and refused to listen to her protests that it was her choice. Later, Zoe went mad with Mac for helping Nikki with her homework, saying he was being too controlling.
Malcolm took Ruth out for lunch and none too subtly quizzed her about Marty, asking for photos of the wedding. He also gently suggested she see a psychiatrist, saying that Ruth reminded him so much of Gina, and he wished he'd insisted that Gina get help after what happened with Marcus. Ruth wasn't happy, and later accused Gina of being behind it. Alice headed off to the shop to get some vodka, but bumped into Shirley. Alice told Shirley about the trial, and Shirley told Alice to move back to George's right away. Billy met Alice for lunch later, and asked her if she could take a couple of weeks of till he sorted Jo out. He said it was temporary and he'd still pay her, and she admitted that she could do with some time off. They hugged, and of course were seen by Jo who was passing.
Carly saw Glenn counting out some money, and realised he was up to something. Later, he gave Lola £50, which he said was saved from his tips, towards the cost of the wedding. Carly told him she knew he had some dodgy scheme on the go.Alice moved in with her dad and Shirley, and George agreed to go with Alice to an AA meeting. Mac apologised to Zoe and said that he should have supported her and would even post the application form for college. Jimmy asked Bob if he'd sorted things out with Lenny. He said Lenny was only a nice guy until he got you where he wanted you. Bob lied and said he was up to date with payments. Jo confronted Billy, saying she'd seen him with Alice. She said there was only one way she'd trust him: he had to divorce Della and marry her.
