Della told her that the baby had gone. Shirley told Della she was proud of her, but Della said Billy had made her give the baby back. Shirley went round to see Billy in the salon. He said it wasn't all his fault, and that it had been Della who wanted the baby. Shirley told him she hated him because his womanising and gambling had destroyed Della.
