With Gina still unconscious, Malcolm frantically tried to phone Eileen. However, she was with Callum, and had the phone on silent mode. Scarlett, Vader and Hazel realised that Eileen was probably spending quality time with her young man, but tried not to let on to Malcolm. Vader and Hazel went round to Callum's flat and banged on the door. Callum insisted on coming with Eileen to the hospital, even though she said he didn't need to. In the cells, Ruth and Jo argued about what had happened. Ruth eventually admitted that she had always been jealous of Jo, and said their mum had always favoured Jo because she was Franco's daughter. Jo said that Gina loved them both.
At the hospital, Malcolm was not happy to see Callum, and realised that Eileen had been unavailable because she'd been with him. Callum made matters worse by trying to stand up to Malcolm, but it was hardly the time or the place. Despite Vader and Hazel's attempts to keep the peace, Eileen eventually told Callum it would be better if he left. Back in the cells, Jo was taken away to be questioned separately from her sister and Ruth received a visit from DCI Hunter, the policeman who was determined to get Jo. He told Ruth she could have Franco. All she needed to do was sign the statement he would write for her. A frightened Ruth agreed.
Jo returned and told Ruth she hadn't told the police anything. Ruth was becoming more and more upset, and began throwing up. A concerned Jo comforted her. Ruth couldn't understand why Jo hadn't taken the opportunity to land her in it. She asked Jo why she was helping her and Jo told her it was because Ruth was her sister, and she still loved her. The sisters seemed to have put some of their differences behind them, and talked about Gina as they sat in the cell waiting for news. However, DCI Hunter then returned with the typed statement for Ruth to sign. Jo realised what had happened; her sister had betrayed her.
