Billy weepsMcCabe and HeatherRoisin smiling

Tonight's episode ended with the pathetic sight of a drunken Billy weeping tears of self-pity and being comforted by Della. After spending some time in the company of super-charmer Lewis, she seems to be coming round to the idea of the big L as surrogate sprog maker - if it will make Billy happy. Of course, she doesn't know that Billy has sold her to Lewis for a mere 20 grand…

The other big news tonight was Heather's dodgy dealings with Mr Big AKA McCabe. She's desperate to avoid jail, and he can get her off the charge using his shark lawyer. There are worse things in life than prison, hen - like making pacts with gangsters when you run a bar, for instance. When Ruth heard that Jo had been comforting Heather , she wasn't chuffed and slagged off Jo's mothering skills.

On the love front, Vader and Hazel were being all lovey-dovey, and an interesting senior citizens' love triangle was developing between Shirley, George and Malcolm. Poor Malcolm couldn't make it to his dumping dinner, and Shirley was very happy to have George round instead. Over another dinner, Ray made Roisin smile by saying he wanted to set a date for their wedding.
