Joanne was distraught over the disappearance of Franco and blamed Scott for trusting Helen. She was also angry at Ewan, telling him that if he hadn't treated Helen so badly, none of it would have happened. Scott told Gina he felt terrible about and said he wanted to move out, but she begged him not to leave her alone in case Marcus came back. Roisin gave George some advice. She said if he wanted to keep Moira, he should be more romantic.
Ewan received a phonecall from Helen and agreed to meet her. Ewan confessed that he was going to find Helen and begged Hazel not to tell the police. She agreed to give him some time to see if he could talk Helen round. Zara went to see Bob in the hope that he might remember something and was heartbroken to discover he didn't. Ewan went to meet Helen but she didn't have the baby with her.
Ewan thought from what Helen said that Franco was back at the hotel. He pretended to agree to go away with Helen in the hope that she'd go and fetch Franco. However, the police had already searched the room and Franco wasn't there. Just as Helen began to trust Ewan, a frantic Jo turned up. Helen was convinced they'd been having an affair all along and as she screamed that Ewan was a liar, she threw herself into the river
