It was the day of Tommy's funeral. Hazel was still angry about her father's death, and continued to blame Kirsty for it. Lewis tried to comfort Eileen, they were spotted by Brian and Alice. Eileen told Lewis they could no longer be together, even as friends. She said they were responsible for everything that happened. Lewis reassured Alice that nothing would ever happen with Eileen again. Hazel's Uncle Ewan turned up at Tommy's wake.

Alice and Moira were perturbed by Ewan's presence. Scott got close to the undertaker, Dan. Brian was forced into telling Hazel the truth about why Tommy and Eileen had separated. Bob talked to Zara about death, and later he asked if they could go out again. Hazel gave an emotional speech at her father's wake, but she used the opportunity to reveal the truth about Eileen to everyone. Hazel also told Brian that he meant nothing to her.

Eileen, Kirsty and Brian were all feeling the effects of an emotional day. A stressed out Brian, he told Kirsty he blamed her for Tommy's death, and later almost revealed to Deke that he'd slept with Hazel. Kirsty told Ray that he was a bad father and that she wished he'd died instead of Tommy. Kirsty was so upset that she packed a bag, took one last look at her card from Russ, and hitched a ride out of Shieldinch.
