Alice was still secretly drinking. After a stormy row, Deke accused Alice of rejecting him in favour of Lewis. Jo and the family were on tenterhooks as they waited for the results of the baby's test. Meanwhile, the Maliks were upset that Jo wouldn't let them see the baby. Zara tried to persuade Jo to change her mind, but she was adamant. Scott secretly gave Zara a picture of the baby.

Jo was distraught when Dr Marcus McKenzie told her about the baby's condition. Alice walked out on her job at the shop after Karim refused to give her the weekend off. Lewis and Alice had a lunchtime rendezvous on the sofa. Lewis later confessed to Alice that he'd slept with Eileen again. He told Alice that it will never happen again and that it's her that he wants to be with.

Gina turned away her internet date, Sean, so he hooked up with Ray in the pub to talk dodgy business instead. Deke apologised to Alice and encouraged her to go to Paris with Lewis. Jo called the Maliks to a family meeting and told them that the baby has a life-threatening condition and urgently needs a bone-marrow transplant.
