Cormac told Ruth of his plans to invest in a restaurant. She was angry at his intentions to keep Lewis's pay-off. He tried to give her the celtic knot jewellery back, but bottled out. Later, he passed it to Gina and told her he was leaving Shieldinch for good. Ray tried to help his dad by letting the cab out via a pal, but he gave the cab to a dodgy bloke in a case of mistaken identity.

Gina passed Cormac's gift to Jo, who encouraged Ruth to get back with him. Ruth was stunned when Jo presented her with Cormac's necklace, and told Scott of her indecision regarding her feelings for Cormac as she was worried about what other people would think if she got back with him. The police investigated the mess at Lewis's office, and Eileen and Brian behaved guiltily.

Ruth thought she saw Cormac's cab pull out, and was devestated, thinking he had gone for ever. Cormac hadn't left and told her he would do whatever possible to make her trust him again. Lily tearfully returned her dog to Mr. Doyle, the original owner, when she heard of his run of bad luck. George continued to hide the truth from Moira about their dire financial straits.
