Nazir was shocked to see the wedding announcement in the local paper. Lewis paid Cormac a visit and advised him not to waste his time with Ruth, as she was only looking for perfection. Meanwhile, Ray was still seeking a buyer for the old harbour building, but he wasn't happy with the amount on offer from Lewis.

Nazir tried, and failed, to persuade his father to slow down with the wedding plans. He reluctantly decided to go ahead with the marriage and drowned his sorrows in the Tall Ship with Russ. But he soon changed his mind when he discovered a Rossi-Malik family meeting in full-swing back home.

Nazir made it very clear that he was not taking part in the marriage sham, and that he didn't even love Jo. During a heated argument, he told his father, Karim, that he no longer had any respect for him, or his wishes. Nazir stormed off when Karim threw him out of the family home.
