Moira planned a family party for Derek's birthday. Uncle Ray's present of a few cans went down a little too well - after mixing them with stolen whisky, Deke and Bob got howling drunk.

Out looking for Deke, Ray's plan of using Kirsty to get at Tommy stepped up a gear, as he told her to lie to Eileen about Tommy's behaviour. They found Deke and dragged him home in disgrace.

Earlier, a present had arrived in the post from Deke's absent mum, and George binned it. With Moira so upset, he felt guilty and retrieved it. Moira was elated to know that her daughter was alive and well.
