SATURDAY 29 JANUARY - BBC RADIO SCOTLAND (0905-1000 GMT) Will 2011 be the year of Andy Murray's Grand Slam breakthrough? |
This Saturday's Sports Weekly has to start in Melbourne, where Andy Murray moves ever close to his first ever Grand Slam. With Nadal and Federer out, we'll be live at the Rod Laver Arena to analyse the likelihood of him winning the Australian Open. Scotland now has a Formula 1 driver for this year's world championship. John's been to meet Paul Di Resta and his Force India team. With the Six Nations starting at the end of next week, we've been to France for a special report, assessing our first opponents. You'll also hear from one of the country's best paralympians. Libby Clegg's been winning more medals at the World Championships in New Zealand: the big event ahead of the Paralympics in London 2012. There are several Scots in golfing action at the latest European Tour event, where we'll have an update. This is also the last ever Sports Weekly. From Saturday 5 February, it becomes Sport Nation. It's still same time, same place, and will continue to be your starting point for the sporting weekend. But with a new theme tune to come, we're asking the audience to tell us their favourite BBC sporting theme tunes.
