My favourite Jockey of all time.He was brilliant in his finishes like in the 1980 Epsom Derby where he steered Henbit home to a half -length victory and when he defeated the almsot invincible Kris in 1980 in the Queen Elizabeth 2 Cup on Known Fact.In 1980 he dominated the big races like a true titan winning the Eclipse,King George, Derby ,Oaks,Queen Elizabeth 2 Cup,St James Palace Stakes but was sadly deprived of a win in the Arc.(in the closing stages Ela Mana Mou was beaten by Detroit)I can never forget his association with the great Troy on whom Willie registered some of his greatest wins.His 1979 Triumph on Troy will be remembered till Racing exists.
