Muirfeld Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) received a grant from BBC Children In Need to improve its facilities at West Fenton Farm in East Lothian. The funding is for the building of a heated viewing gallery and a soft play area for family and siblings.
The grant, awarded in 2009, also provided funds for a mounting block to make the process of getting onto the ponies safer for the children, and for the building of a physiotherapy area where the children can be assessed and treated.
Susan Law, chairman of Muirfield RDA, speaks to Helen Needham about the benefits horseback riding and physiotherapy can bring to disabled children, and expains how their BBC Children in Need grant is being put to use. Filmed in November 2009.
