
Prof Jennifer Mordue of the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Aberdeen speaks to BBC Scotland's Ken Rundle about her research into midge DNA.
Working alongside Edinburgh University and the government laboratory at Pirbright, she has researched how the genetics of the midge relate to bluetongue disease.
She talks about the impact of the disease for Scotland, and discusses the development of a potential vaccine.
