Historical walks

Landward presenter Sarah Mack discovers why different groups of people have walked their way through the Scottish countryside over the last 2000 years.

In the first of her four-part series, she visits paths used by the Roman Legions to reach Ardoch Fort in Perthshire, one of the best preserved military earthworks to be found anywhere in the former Roman Empire.

Sarah takes a walk in the footsteps of the Jacobites.

Sarah follows the trail of illicit whisky distillers in Glenlivet and Strathdon.

Sarah takes a more urban walk through Clydebank and Carbeth.
