Caledonian Challenge : 54 miles, 24 hours

Another great adventure of 2008 was the RBS Caledonian Challenge, an endurance walking event during which teams of competitors attempted to complete a 54-mile route along part of the West Highland Way.
Starting from Fort William in the middle of June, the teams had 24 hours in which to reach the finish point at Ardleish on the banks of Loch Lomond. Some ran, some walked, and all were exhausted by end of the race.
We tell the tales of a few of the teams as they prepared to take part in one of the Scotland's most challenging long-distance races. Read more.
