Image Text: Interview >> The Cinematics

Generic T in the Park image The Cinematics took to the T Break stage on Saturday... they popped in for an interview earlier on.

How are you enjoying T in the Park this year?

Scott - It's cold, rainy… no, we're having fun! We haven't seen much yet: we just got back from a gig in Barcelona so we were sleeping - I caught Wolfmother as I drove in. Yeah, they were good. I really, really want to see Sigur Ros tonight.

When you go back to Dingwall are you local heroes or Southern softies?

Scott - It's half and half!

Adam - You get some peculiar looks from people who used to see you about, doing nothing.

Scott - It's one of these small places where you know everyone. There are your friends who will always be your friends and they don't treat you any differently at all. Then there are the people who were the bullies at school, they're probably a bit weird about it.

Adam - We do have a great deal of support up there. We're playing the Belladrum festival and that's a big thing for us because basically everybody we've ever known is in front of us. It's proving your worth.

Describe your sound.

Scott - Kind of danceable and poppish, but also emotional and really sincere as well.

Adam - It's everything you want to hear from a band! Where does your name come from?

Scott - The band was formed and then we thought right, we need a name for it. It was more kind of a hope than naming what was actually there. The idea was to describe our sound - quite big and cinematic… Quite epic sounding - I hope we still fit in.
