The Ballycoan Pipe Band was formed in 1935 and is based in the Purdysburn section of Belfast, Northern Ireland. The band actively competes at the Grade One level and is a member of the Northern Ireland branch of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association. The band strives to promote public appreciation of pipe band music through competition, performance and the continuous development of skills. Ballycoan pipe band is under the musical leadership of Pipe Major Glenn Cupples and Drum Sergeant Barney Megoran.
