12th April

Esme : Records some programme stings with children at Edinburgh Chinese School. The children recite in both English and Mandarin. Esme feels a bit helpless that she can't help with the translations needed between Mandarin and English.

Jargon

Stings : A short piece of music or voice to introduce an item in the programme.

13th April

Jo : Holds rehearsals with the first group of kids, who are doing the 'Food' programmes, at the studios in PQ.

14th April

Esme : Records a lesson in Chinese at St George's School for Girls, Edinburgh.

Today, Esme also visits Edinburgh Zoo to record two packages about endangered species with some school children.

Jo, Irene, Malcolm and Tanya : Spend two days with the whole cast - child and adult actors - in the PQ studio recording both of the 'Food' programmes.

Because of careful guidelines covering what hours children can work, recording is done in the morning only. In the afternoons the actors get a break and Jo and the team work on mixing the final programmes.

15 April

16th April

Esme : Receives the final script through from Catherine. It's important now to check the length of the script is right to fit into the programmes!

Jo, Irene, Malcolm and Tanya : Record the first of the 'Ghost' programmes with all the actors in a specially built set in the studio.
