Robert, yeah, how do we make this work?!

So after much scratching of heads and scribbles I think we may have an idea of how this thing should work! Robert is working on the mind boggling server side magic - cookies save the page and allow users to "load" their page elsewhere at anytime. Very clever stuff.
I've been working on the visuals and how the buttons and things might work. See below.
