Old/new.

First off let me apologise for the lack of updates over the last week or so. We are now up to date but you might have noticed that there is currently a lack of images (although they will hopefully have been added by now if you are coming to this diary late). We have been pretty busy this last week what with flying to two new locations, having a number of things to rethink and a busier week than normal in shooting terms. 'Nuff with the excuses though.

Today was a rather fine day. This morning we met some students at a school in Bei Bei, two of whom we are now going to be filming with on Thursday. The rest of the day was spent driving and walking around Chongqing getting some of the remaining GV's we need. It was great because up until now we have been travelling out with Chongqing and haven't managed to see anything of the city, well, other than our hotel.

Students.
A wee baby with a Mohawk.

It's brilliant is Chongqing. I'd love to come back and spend more time here. It's exactly like that film Bladerunner.

Except there are no replicants (cyborgs).

Or unicorns.

Or multiple directors cuts (yet).

What I mean is that it is a perfect mix of the very old and the very new. Often right next door to each other. So McDonalds and KFC sit across the road from small snack shacks and men with baskets on their backs deliver hi-def DVD players to futuristic electronics stores. (I also saw a wee baby with a Mohawk, hee hee).

Yup, one of those rare days when work doesn't feel quite like work.

Am I getting paid for this?

Today was fun.

We recce'd in the morning and shot GVs in the afternoon. Despite the 40 degree heat, the pollution and the almost unbearable humidity, everyone was in fine form.

I love days like this.

We've only had two days off since we've been here - ok I know what you're thinking boo hoo get over yourself, but when you're working really hard it's really important to enjoy what you are doing or you'll pass on your stress to the rest of the team and that's bad for morale.
