Today everywhere we shot seemed to have reflective surfaces. When you are shooting towards a mirror or a window you've got to angle the camera in such a way that your reflection (and those around you) won't be seen in the frame.
We filmed against glass kitchen cabinets, metal lift doors, walls made of mirrors inside a lift, the interior of a car, a mirror-lined sports hall and finally in a flat with huge panoramic windows that as night fell reflected everything including and particularly my bright white blouse!
Apart from changing the angle you are shooting from or turning lights on or off, you can solve a few of these problems by simply closing a curtain or pulling down a blind.

Sometimes you have to have difficult conversations. It's easy to shy away from them but experience has told me that it is better to just get them out of the way and get on with things.

Today brought one of those difficult conversations. Everyone was tired after a few early starts in a row and the atmosphere was pretty weird. So towards the end of the day Maria and I had a chat and decided that we needed to talk to the crew. We told them how much we were enjoying working over here and how pleased we were with their work but that we were finding things a little difficult.
One slightly awkward conversation later and things were all out in the open. Hopefully we now all understand each other a little better.
We'll see tomorrow when we have our second days filming with the family.
