Vis-aaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Sigh.

Turns out that there's been a wee mix up with our Visa requests. Now, they were fine when they left us, I tell ye.

We are supposed to leave here on the 14th of May to fly to China but our Visas will not be ready to collect from the Embassy over here until that day.

Now if we collectin' we ain't flyin'.

We obviously requested them a few days before we were due to fly because we are organised like that. However, there seems to have been a miscommunication at the other end regarding the dates. Our fixer, George, in Beijing, tried to call the government offices to say there had been a mistake but there is no one around due to the fact they are celebrating "International Labour Day" which entitles them to a few days off. This means that we won't be able to get this problem sorted out until Monday - just over a week until we are due to leave!!

George tells us it will all be ok and that we may simply get our Visas extended at the end of our trip but he is pretty sure they will be able to amend them to take into account our original dates.

I do very much hope so...
