We will move across to island-blogging as soon as we get time to work out what to do. As you can imagine Christmas and New Year are exceptionally busy for us, looking after the guests.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all

Progress being made

Have been busy since our last post. We took delivery of 5 new kennel exteriors last week, so can start to fill in the gaps that have been demolished in the kennel block, which will make an amazing difference to the dogs accommodation. Only another 30 to replace now! Also cracked how to write a web page using MS Publisher so just have to work out how to put in on our hosting service, so everything is starting to come together.

First demolished kennel

This is the first demolished kennel, which is in one of the former assistant keepers cottages! The dogs have a better view from their kennels than we do from the house.....

Hope pictures work

A couple of pictures for Jill from EK.

The building is the main kennel block, which used to be the assistant lighthouse keepers cottages. The kittens are about 3 months old and the final picture is the view from our back garden. Yes, it is lovely here.

Web Design and Building Works

A web site is well overdue for us and I am fumbling my way through putting together pages. I used to teach I.T. and should know what I am doing but I just don't get it! I hope it will all just click into place if I keep going. Meanwhile my husband is busy demolishing interior walls in the dog block so we can remodel it and put it new runs. Now we just need the bars that are ordered to arrive in time, hopefully ready for the thanksgiving rush of bookings.

I never imagined 5 years ago that I could be at home all day. Somehow working for yourself, even though you put in more hours and work harder than you ever have, doesn't really seem like a proper job!

Also met X333 XXX today on his travels to Tiumpanhead. Good to see you and hope you liked the cat house!

Hi everybody

We have been here 5 years now and thought we should join in island blogging. The usual things affect us that everyone else comments on... the weather, the ferry fares going down, but no ferry to use them on this week. Athough we read the blogs we have resisted joining in but read today about the problems of taking pets to the mainland instead of boarding them on the island. We live at the lighthouse on Point so feel the full effects of the weather here, when the station in Aird records high winds we know to add on another 10 miles per hour, and hope for the more sheltered westerly gales instead of the cold northerly.
