We went to the tatties, and the berries what a life, if yeh dinnay like it yeh must have been lazy, or yeh dinnay like to get yer hands dirty. I loved it, I was never bored, we made up our own games, WE all played together, we did not have TV, computers, CDs, cars, we did not destroy anyone's property, take drugs, sniff glue, and most of all, we were taught to give respect to our elders, and people say you never had much in your day, man if they only knew. | | |

it looks so strange now, but the milkman came to the door with his horse and cart, and you took out a milk jug,and he filled it..
and if you mentioned to my parents about locking the door when they went out,the reply was, how will the butcher get in or even the coalman...changed days...

As a youngster over 40 years ago, I remember picking berries, greatmemories every school holidays. And today whenever I walk past the strawberry punnets in the supermarket it takes me back to berry picking. Great days
