I grew up in Kelso St., Yoker it was great a lot of happy memories - playing rounders, peevers, jumping the burn at archerhill park. Wish we could go back and relive it. It was great. Also going to the Lacarno, Dalmuir masonic, Dumbarton burgh, Sunday night cafe in Partick - boy, those where the days. Would'nt trade those days now. I'm 63yrs young. enjoy my wee grandson. What a blessing, boy is life good. Thanks for the memories,

I stay opposite the Knightswood Park, I went to the F@F dancing & Sunday Cafe
and the Locarno. I am 70 years old

I stay opposite the burn in Knightswood. I also was at the cafe in Partick and at the dancing in the Locarno.

Hi Rose, I lived at 190 Kelso Street between 1948 and 1958. I also went dancing at the Lacarno. I moved to the USA when I was 20 years old (that was in 1968). Like you, I have wonderful memories of Kelso Street. Regards, Maureen

Was a regular at Clydebank Town Hall, Hume Street, Dalmuir Masonic and F&F Sunday Cafe.
Went to Speirs a few times. Dancing wis the spice-o-life.

They had good Vaudeville at Dumbarton Burgh Hall at the beginning of the War.I was from Bonhill

I too went the burgh every Saturday night - that's where I met my husband who has now passed away. I'm 66 so I don't think we know each other, but it's nice to share memories!

While living and growing up in Yoker I also danced at the Locarno, Greens Playhouse the albert and Denniston Palais. Visited the Empire Theatre, the Tommy Morgan show cannot remember the name of theatre it was off Sauchiehall Street I think at the top of Renfrew street. Happy happy memories I loved Tommy Morgan doing his big beanie and telling about hank the yank. My name was Elliott and I lived in Yoker near the Elderslie Bar. I had four brothers.
