Cinema Visits
There is 1 message in this section.

Fraser Thomson from Scone. Posted 12 Mar 2002.
My first ever visit to the cinema was at the age of six when my father took me to an afternoon double bill of Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. I don’t remember much about the actual films except that for some bizarre reason the cinema showed the sequel (The Empire Strikes Back) before the original film!

I remember buying a Strawberry Cornetto during the interval and being completely overawed by the scale of the screen and the incredible sound that came from it! The cinema played an important part in my life also being the scene of my first date when I took a girl to see A Fish Called Wanda. It was traditional for couples to head for the back seats for some canoodling but being a nervous, awkward young adolescent I headed straight down to the front row. I can remember practically nothing about the film as I think I spent the whole time trying to surreptitiously put my arm round the back of her chair but never quite mustering up the courage.
