I was brought up in Anderson as were my mother and grandmother, Does anybody remember the old ferry boat in which my friend,s and I used to skip over to the other side of the clyde for a wee fight with the gorbalonians that is a fond memory of my younger days when I look back now the ferry master must have dreaded the sight of a few children coming

As a boy I recall the fun using the ferry at the bottom of Elliot Street. Also had a lot of fun using The Tunnel to get over the Clyde.

My grandparents on my mum's side lived in Anderston in Clyde Ferry Street. I was only little when we visited before they moved but I've memories of the dark close and the toilet in the stairwell. I remember walking down North Street with my mum and passing a cemetery that is long gone now because of the Kingston Bridge.

My dad was manager of the Anderston Fish restuarant and I loved going there before visiting my gran and getting a plate of chips and a cola.I have vague memories of Washington Street school nearby.

All my mother's family came from Anderson, (McSwiggan) big family.
I have a photo of Anderson cross and Washington St. school, if anyone would like a copy just email me.
