Has anyone any memories of evacuees during WW11? More so do you remember any English children being evacuated from england to Scotland? I know of 3 but people argue saying they would not evauate kids from england as far as scotland? Do you know of anyone?

My father was in France with the BEF. My mother and the three of us were evacuated from Elder Park School. After marching to Cardonald Station and waiting for hours, a train came in which took us to Kircudbright. Boy Scouts met us at the station and took us to our assigned houses. It was now dark and we were met at the door by a woman who took one look at the four of us and said (quote), "I told them no children." As my mother later commented, "Who the hell did she think they were evacuating?" We went home to Glasgow next day. "To hell with the bombs" said my mother.
