Erosion

Erosion of the coastline is often a slow and destructive process. The effects of waves and weather have acted on the landscape to create the shores and cliffs we see today.

Erosive action affects different types of rock in different ways, and at different rates. The process creates distinctive natural formations such as arches, stacks and blowholes.
