John J's Story

Jack Larkin was my grandfather. I have no memory of him other than the photographs and what my family have told me about him. My aunty told me that he was deaf when he returned from the war but when his mother took him to hospital to check him out the found cotton wadding in his ears (? to protect him from the noise of the artillery) he was able to hear again after this.
