Geoffrey's Story
My father arrived in France on the 1st September 1915 and was injured at Loos on the 26th. Back in service in mid October he managed to survive rats, dysentry, cable laying in no-mans land, more seriously wounded at Ypres in July 1917, and until he was finally discharged in 1919. He always glossed over his experiences and it was only after his death I was given a bundle of letters - evrything he had written to his sister during his war.
