Charles's Story

Nothing can describe what he may have seen in those years

This is to remember my grandfather. We never met and until I found this site I never knew of his military history. He joined up as a member of the Territorial Force in 1912 and stayed in the army until 1920, serving through WW1. He was an ordinary soldier who finished his army career as a corporal. Nothing can describe what he may have seen in those years and the records give few clues other than minor injuries and that he fell off his horse. I wish we could have met.
