William Henry's Story

William was born in Birmingham and emigrated to Canada in 1913. He joined the 73rd Battalion of the Royal Highlanders of Canada (canadian Expeditionary Force) affiliated to the Black Watch in 1916 and travelled to England. He fought at Ypres, St Julien, Hooge, Sanctuary Wood and Vimmy Ridge. He died at Vimy Ridge on the 16th March 1917. He is buried in Villiers Station cemetery. He raeched the rank of Company Sergeant Major
