Donald's Story
Born in Tayinloan the son of Detective Sergeant John MacIntyre and his wife Margaret, Donald enlisted in the Argyll Mounted Battery, transferred to the Durham Light Infantry; served with the Expeditionary Force from September 1916 when he was transferred to the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry and reported missing afer the fightin at Langemarck 16 August 1917 and presumed killed. Memorial plaque at Tynecot.
Donald was my great uncle and I am very grateful for the sacrifice he and his comrades made for our future.
Other memories
Serving in the 5th Seaforths between 1914-1919 one day found himself in Cairo. Leaving the barracks to get a tram to see the pyramids, a fellow soldier recalled by the SgtMgr,slipped a package into Dad's hand and doubled away. Alcohol! Next day Dad woke up with no memory of the pyramids but a yard long roll of tram tickets.

Correction. Regret that item sent in regarding high jinks in Cairo relate to Donald John Macintyre and not to Donald MacIntyre 1894-1917.
Very sorry about that mistake.
