Joseph's Story
Joe won the Military Medal at the battle of the Messines Ridge on the 7th June 1917 for "Damm Strasse" Five other men were also awarded the Military Medal along side him for there bravery in this battle. Sgt W McPherson, Pte B Fenwick, Pte M Quinn, Pte E Best, and Pte J Parkin.
