Thomas Henry's Story

Killed on 15-07-1916 at the battle of the Somme. He received a military medal for bravery, but died before this could be awarded.

His Father collected the medal at a ceremony in Heaton Park, Manchester.

He was the only son of a family of five siblings - he left behind four sisters. My second cousin has a collection of twenty-four letters that he wrote home to his sisters during his service.
