Frederick's Story

Most of what I have left of you is what I was told you never talked about. Reading your diary gives a few hints of the events you went through, how ill you were, that you were gassed and lost your sight, and that you recovered. I know you were thinking so much about the concert party performances and that you went on to perform in France in 1919. Whatever I do with this will be my interpretation; I hope I do it in a way that wold have meant something to you. Trying to find a way of understanding.
