William Albert's Story
William Alberts son, my Father said he was happily jumping around because it was his 5th birthday when the news of his fathers death arrivied. William Alberts died when his trench was hit by a shell in what was I believe the retreat at Mons, he had been a regular soldier in the military band of the Royal Fusiliers but was working for Vauxhall in Luton when the 1WW broke out so must have either reinlisted as a volenteer or was called up from the reserve as he was 32 when he died.
