James's Story

James Evans was awarded the Military Medal in 1915.

My great-uncle James Evans from Newhaven fought with the Royal Sussex Regiment from 1914. He fought in Flanders where he was injured and lost his lower right leg. He was awarded the Military Medal in 1915. According to records, he continued to serve in the army until 1919. He lived until 1942 and is buried in Malmesbury.
