Thomas's Story

Thomas joined the Kings Regiment in May 1907 pre 1914-18 war and was a regular soldier.

He didn't receive his war pension after serving almost 12 years because the Kings regiment was due to be sent to Dublin to put down the uprising that was taking place in Ireland(Dublin),being of irish descent Thomas felt that he couldn't betray his ancestors and was discharged in consequence of re-enlistment with K. L. Regt. under a special Indian Army order. This was looked on as a break in his army service. He went on to serve a further 2 years before his eventual discharge into civilian life.
