Henry Richard's Story

I discovered the Commanding Officer's hand written reports of the engagement on 25/26th. May 1915 at Kew. It describes an engagement that took place the day after the end of the Battle of Festubert to capture 2 trenches to 'straighten the line'. My mother told me when I was quite young that Uncle Dick was blown to bits. When this happened his 'brother' started to bomb the trenches, presumably with hand grenades, and killed many germans. He should have got a VC. On that day L/Cpl. Keyworth got a VC for precisely that action. I wish she had been around when I made that discovery.
