Joseph's Story
Called up as a reservist after serving in India, Joseph joined the BEF
Joseph fought at the first battle of Ypres salient before marching south to the successful first battle of the Marne. Advancing north again, Joseph was killed at Nueve Chappelle 28/10/1914. leaving behind a wife and two baby girls. (one was my mum). Remains were never recovered, Joseph is remembered at the war memorial at Le Touret
